 Supply of electrical equipment for the thermo-solar plant Kathu1

Documentation of engineering, fabrication and trials in the plant of all the electrical panels of Low and Medium Tension for the thermo-solar plant Kathu1, in the province of Cape Town, in South Africa.

The plan built by the temporary joint venture C.T Kathu1, formed by the companies ACCIONA Ingeniería and SENER Ingeniería y sistemas, will generate 100MW electrical. This plant will be running by 2018 and will provide electricity to 80.000 homes.

Based on its experience in similar plants, like Ouarzazate (Morocco), Termosol 1 and 2, Orellana and Valle 1 and 2, among some of them, Pine will supply for this project the following equipment:

  • 23 booths of medium voltage in circuit-breaker in 6,6kV, 2500A and 31,5kA of breaking capacity.
  • 7 Centers of voltage distribution in circuit-breaker in 400V.
  • 4 Centers of control of engines in circuit-breaker in 400V.
  • 14 Panels of the voltage distribution and lightning.
  • 62 Panels of voltage distributor.

The contract is completed by making available the equipment for construction by the engineering technicians of Pine
